hey!. Thank you for your comment. No, I don't think so. This car has a long wheelbase and track. It's definitely not the smallest luxury car.

    Hi Dave,

Finally FiatLinea is going to be out. Car Size is decent and Diesel engine. Can you explain why any body should pay 50% more or octavia. Both engines are of same power and size is more or less same?

    Well!

My friend I am really confused about the car and also other market competitors available...Please help me to take this decesion. I planned to purchase the SX4 as that is available with all the features including safety features and good looks. Also I dont mind paying 70k extra for the new honda city. But, again the same confusion....
DO u have any help on this for me to decide?

Nice one. Really looking forward for a detailed review. One thing that stops me from choosing a fiat is its taken care by Tata. If Fiat can sell and provide service by itself, then even a old Fiat Uno will enjoy a good second innings. Somebody Insist this to Fiat Please.

Now that the Fiat Linea is released, good old Octavia might well be forgotten. Linea is better looking and more fuel efficient than the Octavia. I certainly can't find a good reason as to why one should buy an Octavia these days.

    Love at first sight yes..
The front grill reminds me of design cues taken from Aston Martin.. sexy, sleek, compact and just purrrfect!!!
    Yes purrfect and NOT PERFECT.
I drove the diesel the other day... and it was horrid.
Aston Martin.... jeez... it's not even comparable to the old Fiat (Padmini) Taxis running on CNG!!!
Its like one of those fashion models, they look so beautiful but when they talk, you know their true class!

The first gear is non-existent. It just cant do anything... and no matter what you do, you have to move up gears quickly. Push it,.. and you feel it would be easier to push a donkey carrying a heavy load.
This is one of the worst cars I have ever driven.

To add insult to injury,.. the test car which was jut 2 days old, had a broken front storage door & the speedo didnt work & one of the side mirrors was missing aswell! The salesman said .. t'was due to excessive use... but if the car cant handle 2 days of excessive use then will it last normal Indian use? Very doubtful!

Well my mind till does not let me forget the looks of this car, so now tis time to wait for the Petrol version to be out.

    Excellent piece of info Akshay!

Yes, the gear ratios are quite wrong and made worse by an underpowered engine, but i still do feel that it can manage urban traffic in crowded Indian cities(where its hard to cross 40kph!).

If anyone buys this car(diesel version), he either works for Fiat or has fallen for Linea's looks. It's very easy for one to get mesmerized by the looks of this car!
